The grass is always greener...

...on our side of the fence! Kurt finished our backyard yesterday and it looks soooo delicious. I can't wait to sink my toes into the fresh grass and let River be tickled by laying on it! River has already shown great interest in grass at the park, loves to sit in it and grab it with his fingers. Jude was busy getting his trucks all ready to play in the new yard. He also was super impressed by the HUGE truck that came to our house to deliver the sod and the forklift that they used to get it off the truck, it was quite the show.

In other news, River continues to cheer on the Bruins despite their loss last night. What a die hard fan!

Summer Lovin'

Finally we have had a blast of summer weather - which means River can actually enjoy being outdoors! Jude and River continue to be best buds (when River is not being attacked with a mini stick that is...). Every day River smiles more and more, and Jude is discovering that they can play together. I love love love watching them interact together.

What I don't love so much right now is that my backyard is a rototilled mess of mud...however soon it will be brand new grass, yipee! The long weekend found us having a backyard fire with friends, heading up to Parry Sound (even hitting the beach) for the day, and working in the backyard. The boys loved having an extra day with Dad at home, and I did too!

The Beirman kids loved our dirty backyard, and jumping in on a wheelbarrow ride. Can you find Jude in there? Don't worry, River was napping safely in his crib and is not at the bottom of that pile of kids.

Construction

Kurt has been busy doing some spring construction projects around the house. So far he has fixed the gate to the backyard and revamped our deck with the removal of a railing and installation of some new steps. Jude has really enjoyed participating in these projects, watching closely and copying everything Kurt does!

Let's see, do I have everything? Hammer, pencil, measuring tape, drill, sippy cup, beer...hang on a second!

p.s. River is still here, and I have been severely overlooking him on the blog lately. So here is an adorable pic of him lovin' the bumbo seat. He loves to sit up and look around, especially at Jude. All Jude has to do is simply make eye contact and River bursts into giggles, already he worships his older brother.
